Enjoy the moment: Coloring and gaming

Join us on every other Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. and explore your artistic side with coloring and exercise your mind with gaming. This month’s programs will be held on October 4 and 18.

Teen Crafternoon

Join us every other Tuesday at 3:30 pm and explore your crafty side. We will have a different craft each month. Teens and young adults are welcome! This month’s programs are October 11 and 25.

Upcrafting

Adults, join us the second and fourth Thursdays at 3:30 pm for a class that is a combination of upcycling and crafting. This month’s programs are October 13 and 27 and we will be making DIY candle bouquets.

The Life & Times of Henry Shore

The library will have copies of Lawrence Davis’s The Life & Times of Jim Henry Shore available for purchase while supplies last. Lawrence Davis is a North Carolina native, veteran and retired attorney who served two terms in the NC General Assembly. He grew up with stories of his ancestors’ lives and is pleased to bring them to life in his first published novel. Cost of book is $20, cash only.

VAYA Health Trainings

Halloween Downtown

Join us throughout downtown Yadkinville for Halloween fun from 3-5 pm on Monday, October 31st. There will be lots of trick or treating for the kids and costume contests and food trucks for everyone! For more information, please contact the library at 336-679-8792. The library will be closing at 3pm on Monday, October 31st to participate in the Halloween Downtown event. Stop by our table in the plaza to get a treat and take and make kit!

Author Talk

The library will be hosting a virtual author talk with author Brian Lebeau on his book, A Disturbing Nature. It will be held on Monday, October 17 at 3:30 p.m. and will be live in the library meeting room, streaming on Facebook Live and posted as a special video podcast episode.

Page Turners Book Club

Our adult book club will be meeting on the first and last Friday of each month at 10 a.m. for a discussion of the book club’s current pick, discuss favorite authors and books, share reading lists and discuss any other book-related topics. Copies of the current book will be available for checkout. This month, we will be reading The It Girl by Ruth Ware.

Paper Padawans Book Club

An online book club for Teens, Tweens, Young Adults and Young Adults at heart to come together with fellow book lovers and discuss a different book each month. Copies of the current book will be available for checkout at the library. This month, we will be reading Hocus Pocus and the All New Sequel by A.W. Jantha.

Yadkin County Senior Center Program

The library will be hosting a Seniors program on Tuesday, October 11 at 10 a.m. at Yadkin County Senior Center on “Yadkin Valley Ghost Stories and Legends”. This program will be in recorded and available for viewing on the senior center and the library’s Facebook pages.

Yadkin County Park Storywalk

Come have a walk at Yadkin County Park and read a story! Storywalk combines physical movement, family bonding, literacy skills practice and story and outdoor enjoyment for preschool and elementary school age children. Each month, we will feature a different story that will be on display for 3 weeks. For this month, the storywalk will be posted from October 7-28 and will be Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear? by Nancy Carlstrom.

WIC Garden Storywalk

Come have a walk at Yadkin County Park and read a story! Storywalk combines physical movement, family bonding, literacy skills practice and story and outdoor enjoyment for preschool and elementary school age children. Each month, we will feature a different story that will be on display for three weeks. For this month, the storywalk will be posted from October 7-28 and will be Fall/Otono by Ailie Busby.
