Cryptocurrency prices today: Bitcoin slips 2%; Dogecoin, Litecoin & Stellar fall over 2%

World’s largest cryptocurrency bitcoin fell nearly 2% today. On Coinmarketcap, the price of bitcoin fell 1.80% to $47,106. Market cap of the cryptocurrency slipped  to $888.721 billion.

Currently, the global crypto market cap stands at $2.07 trillion, 0.13% higher over the last day.

Other cryptocurrencies were trading on a mixed note today.

Ethereum rose 1.97% to $3,231 and Dogecoin lost 2.44% to $0.2737. Digital token Stellar was down 2.27% to $0.3325 and XRP was down 1.46% to $1.11.

Litecoin declined 2.11% to $168.58 but Uniswap rose 2.67% to $26.76.

Of late, crypto prices have risen on the back of comments from billionaire Elon Musk and Ark Investment Management LLC’s Cathie Wood.

In late July, Elon Musk said Tesla was “most likely” to start accepting bitcoin as payment again. The comment helped the cryptocurrency race past the $30,000 level. The electric carmaker said in May that it would no longer accept the cryptocurrency for purchases.
