JONESVILLE — Following an undercover investigation, two women have been arrested and charged for allegedly selling suboxone and heroin. The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office arrested McKenzie Mae Willard, age 22, and Caroline Martin Willard, age 55, both of Jonesville on June 23.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, the two women had been under investigation since January of 2020
“The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office has seen an increased number of offenders selling prescribed suboxone/buprenorphine to supply their heroin addiction. Suboxone/Buprenorphine is a scheduled III controlled substance under the North Carolina Controlled Substance Act,” stated the release.
McKenzie Willard was charged with four felony counts of sell/deliver a schedule III controlled substance (buprenorphine); four felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a schedule III controlled substance (buprenorphine); four felony counts of maintaining a dwelling for the sale of controlled substances; one felony count of sell/deliver a schedule I controlled substance (heroin); one felony count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a schedule I controlled substance (heroin); one felony count of sell/deliver a counterfeit controlled substance; and one felony count of conspiracy to sell/deliver a counterfeit controlled substance. She received a $57,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court in Yadkin County on July 7.
Caroline Willard was charged with one felony Count of Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver a Counterfeit Controlled Substance. She received a $1,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court in Yadkin County on July 21.
