Jonesville man facing multiple drug charges

HAMPTONVILLE — On July 23, the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office was following up on recent possible drug activity concerns at a residence off of Marler Rd. in Hamptonville. A vehicle was seen leaving the area and a traffic stop was initiated. A search of the vehicle was conducted and the passenger, William Walker, attempted to flee and resist. Detectives were able to detain Walker and seize a quantity of heroin from Walker. Walker was transported to Hugh Chatham Hospital for medical evaluation. Walker was then arrested and taken to the Magistrate and Yadkin County Detention Center.

William Bryan Walker Jr, 31, of Jonesville, was arrested and charged with the following two counts of felony trafficking of schedule I controlled substance, heroin; felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell/deliver schedule I controlled substance, heroin; felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances; misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia; misdemeanor resist, obstruct and delay a law enforcement officer; and misdemeanor property damage.

Walker is being held in Yadkin County Detention Center on a $250,000 secured bond. His next court date is July 28. Walker is on Post Release (Parole) for felony possession of schedule I in Iredell County and probation for felony possession of schedule I and driving while impaired in Yadkin County. Walker is also currently out on bond for felony flee to elude in a motor vehicle in Surry County.
