Annie’s Hope grand opening planned for July 31.

EAST BEND — An event to celebrate the grand opening of Annie’s Hope Center for Growing and Healing will be held July 31, noon to 8 p.m. at 1043 Autumn Drive, East Bend. Local musicians will perform, and there will be food for sale at food trucks and other local cooks. Beer and wine will be for sale, and there will be other vendors as well.

Annie’s Hope Center for Growing and Healing is a long-term residence for survivors of domestic violence. Women and children will be welcomed to live in the home for up to one year. While residents, they will receive services that will help to heal the trauma of abuse. The women will also participate in enterprises such as growing produce for sale in the community, beekeeping and honey sales, creating soaps and other body products for sale. Funds generated from these enterprises will be used to maintain the home as well as provide incomes to the women.

The food schedule for the event will be:

Noon-2 p.m. Pacific Rim food truck will be on site from 12 noon to 2p.m. and JJ’s Cuban Kitchen will be at the event after 5 p.m.

The musical lineup will feature Emily Stewart performing from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.; Kelsey Hurley from 1:30 to 3p.m.; Gypsy Soul from 3 to 5 p.m. and Rhythm and Roots from 6 to 8 p.m.

Noon-1:30 p.m. Emily Stewart 1:30-3 p.m. Kelsey Hurley 3-5 p.m. Gypsy Soul 6-8 p.m. Rhythm and Roots.

A blessing of the house is planned for 5:30 p.m.
