The North Carolina High School Athletic Association will hold the Individual Wrestling State Tournaments on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at three high school sites. The 1A and 4A Tournaments will be at Glenn High School in Kernersville. The 2A Tournament will be conducted at Wheatmore High School in Trinity. The 3A Tournament will be held at Eastern Guilford High School in Gibsonville.
Elkin’s CJ Henderson qualified for the State Championship after he placed second in the 1A West 285 pound weight class. East Wilkes also has two athletes headed to the State Championship, Kole Lambert and Zac Helms. Cole Nixon of Starmount will be competing in the 138 pound class for the Rams. Luke Hurley, Edwin Pozo, and Eli Thomas will be leading the Forbush Falcons to the state Championship in their various weight classes. Thomas took first place for the Falcons in the 106-pound weight class, which gave him the honor of being the All-Time Wrestling Win Leader at Forbush, a record that has not been broken in over ten years.
