Bomb threat closes bank early on Friday

A bomb threat Friday afternoon shuttered the BB&T bank in Yadkinville early. Commander Randy Dimmette with Yadkinville PD said the report came in around 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Bank employees evacuated the building, under the direction of their security team following the bomb threat from an unknown caller.

Yadkinville PD contacted the State Bureau of Investigation who searched the property inside and out with an explosive detecting canine. No evidence of any explosives were found on the premises. Dimmette said. Bank employees could not offer any clues to possible suspect who might have made the threat.

The bank remained closed the rest of the day on Friday.
