The Diamondbacks conducted their first full-squad spring training workout Monday, just in time for the newest Diamondbacks position player to join the mix. More than a week after agreeing to terms with the team, a delay lengthened by the pandemic, veteran infielder Asdrúbal Cabrera officially met his new teammates.

And the Diamondbacks finally could officially discuss Cabrera’s addition. And while bringing in the 35-year-old infielder hardly qualifies as a splash, as his one-year and $1.75 million contract suggests, it does create a few ripples on the Arizona roster. Now, with Cabrera in the fold, manager Torey Lovullo and general manager Mike Hazen can more openly discuss exactly who will be playing where.
