Boonville Business Assoc. to operate Dewey’s fundraising store

BOONVILLE — The Boonville Business Downtown Development Association (BBDDA) will operate a Dewey’s Holiday Store Fundraising Store Location at 108 N. Carolina Ave; The Harvey E Smith Municipal Building. The store will help raise money for the town park while providing a convenient local place to shop for holiday treats.

The store will be open from Nov. 16 until Dec. 24, and will operate Monday through Friday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. A portion of proceeds from each sale will go directly back to the BBDDA to help with the purchase of playground equipment for the Boonville Community Park.

“We’re excited to partner with Dewey’s Bakery to help in achieving our goal of raising money toward the purchase of playground equipment for the Boonville Community Park,” said Debbie Cooper, Secretary and Treasurer of the BBDDA. “Bringing back life into the park and downtown areas have been a goal for the BBDDA.”

Items available in the store will include Dewey’s Moravian Cookie gift tins, Moravian Sugar Cake, savory Cheese Straws and much more. Moravian Cookie flavors include Ginger Spice, Classic Sugar, Chocolate Dipped Mint and many others.

Town Commissioner Monica Craver said the shop was already bustling on its first day open on Monday.

Dewey’s Moravian baked goods have been a treasured holiday tradition since the bakery opened in downtown Winston-Salem in 1930.
