Storm leaves flooded roads, power outages

Emergency Services personnel had a busy day on Thursday as they worked to deal with the effects of Tropical Storm Zeta which dumped heavy rains across the region. High winds also brought down trees causing power outages and blocking roads.

Yadkin County Schools Superintendent announced that students would be out of school on Friday due to flooded roads and power outages. Elkin City Schools was already scheduled for a remote learning day on Friday per their Plan B school schedule.
