The on-loan Southampton star whipped in a beauty for Celtic’s first before sweeping home a fine second from Jeremie Frimpong’s measured low cross.
His display earned a place in UEFA’s power rankings and also a rave review from Italy.
The Italian press – via outlet Tutto Calcio – hailed Elyounoussi as a “mature left winger” who presented a “a constant danger for the opposing defence”.
Notably, it’s also stated that a host of Serie A clubs, including Genoa, Sampdoria and Atalanta, are among his admirers.
That’s led to speculation his next stop could be the Italian top-flight.
Elyounoussi is set to remain at Parkhead for the rest of the season and his display in France bodes well in the team’s quest to recharge their domestic campaign.
The 26-year-old’s progress was also discussed by Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl following his statement performance against Les Dogues.
The German insists he’s keeping a keen eye on the player’s progress and left the door open for a Saints return next year.
He said: “I am very deeply invested in what my loan players do and I am very happy for (Elyounoussi) that he scored and I am happy to see it.
“And, definitely, the player has a chance to maybe come back in and to be a part of the team, maybe next year.”
