Former Sonic spot purchased by Cook Out

The former Sonic property in Elkin which closed in 2016 has been purchased by Cook Out – Elkin Inc.

ELKIN — A new fast food restaurant could be coming to Elkin. According to real estate transfer records the former Sonic restaurant property has been sold to Cook Out-Elkin, Inc. The property at 1425 N. Bridge St. has been operated as a car lot since the closure of the former restaurant in the summer of 2016.

The property was sold by Jason A. Myers, Darrell E. Byrd, and Claudia B. Byrd.

A representative from Cook Out could not be reached for comment as of press time.

Cook Out is a North Carolina based fast food chain that was founded in Greensboro in 1989. It is known for its fresh burgers and milkshakes.
