Coinbase announced that it was going to stay “apolitical” and ask that employees refraining from talking politics on company time. This did NOT sit well with Silicon Valley and Twitter, of course. The company allowed people who didn’t want to stay a generous 4-6 month severance package to basically GTFO. The Coinbase backlash shows why so many companies are eager to “virtue signal” in 2020. It’s not their customers they’re afraid of… it’s their PEERS, the MEDIA and, of course, TWITTER.
