Brad Schaffel is the Manager of Electronic Discovery and Litigation Support at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Mr. Schaffel has held this position since November, 2017. He has over 27 years of experience in various levels of project management in the legal space.

Tasked with creating a team of experienced professionals, Brad has been successful in building departments of top-tier individuals who can act as in-house legal technology consultants as well as excellent project managers and technicians. He continuously strives to improve automation and workflow; keeping up with the growing size and complexity of discovery requests is an on-going challenge that requires constant attention.

For many years, Mr. Schaffel has served on industry panels and has been involved in e-discovery education and mentorship. He has been an adjunct professor of eDiscovery and a member of numerous professional associations. Most recently, Brad has been involved with developing distance learning programs on eDiscovery best practices and general knowledge for numerous top-tier law schools. Brad has also hosted podcasts on the topic of eDiscovery, Information Governance, and Litigation Support. Aimed at not only sharing insights from industry powerhouses, the podcasts focused on what it’s like to work in the profession from the perspective of service providers, lawyers, and lit support project managers.

Mr. Schaffel is a member of the Charter Class of Certified E-Discovery Specialists and previously served as Vice-President for the ACEDS NY Metro Chapter Board.

Outside of his day job, Brad spends most of his time with family. He is married with two children and lives in Brooklyn. He is an avid hiker particularly in the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks
