Steller Lumens becomes part of the Samsung Blockchain Keystore

  • The Stellar Development Foundation has revealed a collaboration with the Samsung Blockchain Keystore to support the application development.
  • At least four Stellar-based businesses have committed to adopting the requisite SDKs to make their applications available in the Keystore.

Via a press release, the Stellar Development Foundation has announced the integration of Stellar into the Samsung Blockchain Keystore. The integration will allow end users of Stellar Lumens to store their private keys for XLM on certain Samsung Galaxy devices. For now, 5 Samsung smartphones are compatible with the above integration. According to the release, the supported devices are: Galaxy S20 Series, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Note 10 Series, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S10 series.

Developers will benefit from the integration of Stellar Lumens

According to the announcement by the Stellar Development Foundation, developers of the Stellar ecosystem will be able to benefit from the integration. They will be able to create blockchain applications and services for Samsung Galaxy smartphones. The applications and services will be able to use existing products based on Stellar.

Additionally, the Stellar Development Foundation and Samsung will aim to expand and enhance the blockchain ecosystem for its users. The integration will allow development kits to be incorporated with applications that take advantage of the Samsung Blockchain Keystore. In that regard, the partners will also seek to recruit and support new developers to enter the Stellar ecosystem. At the time of announcement, at least four Stellar-based businesses have committed to adopting the requisite SDKs to make their applications available in the Keystore, including DSTOQ, SatoshiPay, Litemint, and Nodle.

CEO and Executive Director of the Stellar Development Foundation Denelle Dixon said the integration of Stellar in the Samsung Blockchain Keystore is an important step for the platform. Dixon highlighted the features of the Samsung Blockchain Keystore and described them as user-friendly. Dixon believes this will eventually allow for a higher level of adoption, as Dixon added:

With this integration, we’ve opened up to a new network of users that can benefit from the combined innovation of Stellar and Samsung. It’s just the beginning as we work together to empower more developers and users to leverage blockchain and the capabilities presented by this integration.

As reported by CNF, Samsung is one of the major companies that have supported the integration of cryptocurrencies. In February, the company announced that it would integrate a crypto wallet to manage Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and some ERC-20 tokens, along with TRON (TRX) into the Samsung Galaxy S20. Samsung sold 300 million phones last year alone and its global sales reached nearly 20% in the same period.
