How USC’s scholarship situation could feel the ripple effects of a spring season – The Athletic

LOS ANGELES — There are so many unknowns in the world of college football right now because of the COVID-19 pandemic. With cases rising across the country, we don’t know when Pac-12 teams will be able to start practicing, let alone when they’ll start the season. We don’t know if there will even be a season this fall.

We do know USC currently has 83 scholarship players on its roster. Before the fate of the 2020 season is revealed, this unusual summer offers us time to examine the Trojans’ scholarship distribution and look at how the makeup of the roster could be impacted in the event the season gets pushed to the spring.
